We are so proud to announce that Garden Gate Landscaping, a division of GreenSweep LLC, was recently awarded a Landscape Contractors Association (LCA) Distinction Award in the Total Residential Contracting Design/Build category.
This beautiful garden in northwest Washington, DC boasts a welcoming front entry and serene rear garden completed through a three-phased approach. The project consisted of exterior renovations surrounding the entirety of the home including the design and installation of stone walls, walks, and patio; iron railings and fencing; landscape lighting; a jardiniere fountain in the rear garden; and thoughtfully chosen landscaping throughout the property.
While designing the outdoor spaces it was important for Landscape Design Consultant, Dan Law, to complement the natural setting of nearby Rock Creek Park. During installation crews had to be mindful of park boundary lines. The team had to maneuver carefully on the extremely sloping site and the confines of the park land. Demolition and grading, as well as installation of mature evergreen trees at the rear property line were obstacles to overcome with much of the labor needing to be done by hand. The result was surely worth the effort.
The clients are delighted with the finished project and enjoy the garden equally from both inside and outside the home. The sight and sound of water helps to draw the eye away from neighboring fences and homes and on pleasant days, with windows open, the sound of the water can be heard both in the garden and wafting through the house.
